JULIO RODRIGUES was born in Portugal and immigrated to the United States (New Jersey) in 1978. Although his professional activity is in the engineering field, he is also a self-taught artist who was fascinated at an early age by the beauty and transparency of watercolor.

His favorite themes are cityscapes, buildings and other structures of historic interest. In his paintings he strives for transparency, limited detail, and strong light/shadow contrasts, while emphasizing the role of the sky in the composition.

Rodrigues moved to the Lehigh Valley area in 2015, and here is has found lots of material for his paintings, especially in Easton and its surrounding area. Over the years, he has exhibited his work in various galleries and other venues in Newark NJ and Memphis TN where he resided until 2011.

The gallery will be closed on May 28 for Memorial Day Weekend.
