Come to this class, led by Carrie Havranek, food writer and blogger at The Dharma Kitchen, and learn how to put together a healthy, healing and versatile meal with ingredients easily sourced from the Market District.
Wait, what’s a Buddha bowl?
These meals are usually plant-based vegan and are often gluten-free. Buddha Bowls are full of colorful ingredients arranged in little piles, so much so that the top of the bowl swells like a full Buddha’s full belly. With a combination of greens, grains, legumes, veggies, nuts and/or legumes, these hearty salad-like meals are often brought (but not always) together with a creamy, tahini-based dressing.
We’ll talk about simple ways to boost the flavor of fruits and veggies, and create palettes that will effortlessly combine with ingredients you have on hand. You’ll go home with your own bowl of food—bring a large, lidded container.
