Presented by Tom Kerr. The first four strip split cane rod was made by Samuel Phillipe, a gunmaker in Easton, Pennsylvania in 1845. Tom Kerr provides a synopsis of his last three years of research on Samuel Phillippe and his son Solon and his efforts to trace all known Phillippe rods, reels, creels and artifacts through the past 170 years. Included in museum admission or $5 requested donation.
