Please come to the opening reception of “The Unfolding Rose,” Lauren Kindle’s solo show, featuring a year’s worth of oil paintings. The artwork will be hanging for the whole month of May (starting May 4th). The title of the show comes from Roethke’s poem, “Words for the Wind.” Below, an excerpt:
The breath of a long root,
The shy perimeter
Of the unfolding rose,
The green, the altered leaf,
The oyster’s weeping foot,
And the incipient star–
Are part of what she is.
She wakes the ends of life.
