Join Book & Puppet and the Cops ‘n’ Kids Children’s Literacy Program/Reading Room for a special puppet show celebrating African American poet, Gwendolyn Brooks.
A fun event for the whole family, the puppets will perform poems from Brooks’ children’s book, Bronzeville Boys and Girls. The best part? Kids will randomly pick a poem from the Story Hat, so it’s a surprise everytime for the audience AND the puppets!
The Cops ‘n’ Kids Reading Room, in collaboration with the Easton Area Community Center, provides a comfortable and welcoming place for children and families to read together, share stories, and select up to three free books to take home on every visit. Police officers, high school and college students, community volunteers, and various community organizations participate in the programs that are provided in the Reading Room.
