BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT FORGIVABLE LOAN PROGRAM

The Greater Easton Development Partnership (GEDP) offers Business Improvement Forgivable Loans to support small businesses located within Easton's Main Street district.

This initiative is administered by GEDP through funding provided by the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development's (DCED) Main Street Matters (MSM) Program.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligible businesses can receive up to $5,000 in funding for improvement projects across seven key areas:

  1. Technology Upgrades

  2. Marketing Assistance

  3. Equipment Purchases

  4. Interior Renovations

  5. Startup Costs (for businesses less than 1 year old)

  6. Accessibility Improvements

  7. Operational Expenses such as rent, utilities, and staff

Total project costs cannot exceed $25,000. Due to limited funds, loans may not be approved at 100% of the requested amount.

Requests exceeding $5,000 will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Businesses seeking additional funding must provide a written justification outlining the scope of the project, expected community or economic impact, and why the standard award amount is insufficient to meet project goals.

A full set of guidelines can be downloaded HERE.

This is a competitive process. Applications will be reviewed by the committee and evaluated on a point system scale.
