“KIM ROBERTSON: WET WORK” represents the confluence of art and nature. This solo painting exhibition traces its origins to the multiple ways in which water, flow, juiciness, serenity, reflection, creatures and landscapes intermingle on the artist’s canvases. Fecund forms burst forth from primordial pools of color. Fish and pond denizens splash, squirm and squirt between layers of acrylic paint and the surrounding natural flora. Metallic paints depict quicksilver turns of a trout’s fins and bold brushwork describes the emotions of fleeting moments.

Spring days, light filtering through trees, still reeds standing guard by lily pads, anxious moments before a strike on a fishing line explodes into joy, and the serenity of twilight on the deepening blue, all beckon viewers to enter Kim’s world and depart refreshed, invigorated, challenged and changed by the experience.
