Easton’s Mercantile Home announces the opening of its 31st collection, The Time Traveler, on Saturday, June 6th featuring art, objects, and curiosities inspired by the tricky illusions of time.  Mercantile creates its own line of artfully handmade and ever-changing products  (bags, stationery, candles, jewelry, etc.) and presents them in experiential installations four times each year.  In addition to new Mercantile creations, this collection will feature the artwork of Ken Stanek (Brooklyn, NY), with additional creative work by Reinaldo Valentin (Bethlehem, PA) and Amy Detweiller (Woxall, PA).   The opening celebration is Saturday, June 6th from 4-7pm and is open to the public.

Co-owner Ron Morris explains, “We’ve created this collection by playfully imagining the gathering of ecelectic items by a fictional character who travels back-and-forth in space without regard to time.  This has allowed us a dazling spectrum of product concepts to play with! ”

The Time Traveler collection will also include the 2015 edition of the  popular, one-of-a-kind Easton art flags.  This is the third year Mercantile Creative Director Ken Jones Jr. will create these flags.

Jones explains, “Each Easton flag is made using a unique combination of fabrics and colors.  Just like all the Eastonians I know, no two are the same, and each shows distinct pride in our little city.”

Mercantile Home, located at 140 Northampton Street in Downtown Easton, is open Wednesday through Saturday from 11am – 8pm, Sunday from 11am – 6pm .  For information on upcoming exhibitions, special musical performances, and new art, objects, and curiosities, please visit www.mercantilehome.com.
