Program to Mark the 60th Anniversary of the Flood of ’55
Author Mary Shafer returns to the Easton Area Public Library on Thursday, August 27, with a 45-minute narrated slide presentation and book talk about the Flood of 1955. Shafer is the author of Devastation on the Delaware: Images of the Deadly Flood of 1955, considered by many to be the first definitive documentary of the disaster.
The program begins at 7:00 pm and will conclude with a question-and-answer session when the audience will be invited to share stories of the flood. The program is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be provided by the Friends of the Library.
The 60th Anniversary Edition of the book is scheduled for release in August. Copies will be available for purchase and signing.
The program will be held in the Catherine Drake Meeting Room which is handicapped accessible
